Bhadrachalam, a town in Khammam District of Andhra Pradesh, India is a famous pilgrimage place. Whenever we hear the word Bhadrachalam, the first word that comes into our mind is “Lord Rama.” Lord Sree Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple is located in the place in the worship of Lord Sri Rama and Sita. The temple is located in the Dandakaranya forest area on the banks of river Godavari. The temple is constructed by a famous devotee of Lord Rama named Kancharla Gopanna, who is popularly known as Bhakta Ramadas. It is the place which is visited by Lord Rama along with Sita and Lakshmana many years ago at the time of their exile. He did this as he promised Moksha to him. Due to this reason the place is named as Bhadra. Later it is changed to Bhadradri and Bhadrachalam. Also the “Vigrahas” found in the temple are found by Dammakka – a devotee of Lord Rama. It is said that Lord Rama appeared in her dreams and told her about the existence of these vigrahas on Bhadragiri hills. And to her shocking she found them on the hills. Dummugudem – It is the place where Lord Rama killed 14000 demons. He is called Atmarama by the people in that place.
Gundala – According to Brahma purana it is said that lord Brahma-Vishnu-Maheswar had a holy dip on the banks of the river.
Sree Rama Giri – It is the place where we can find Yoga Rama temple on a hill. And so the place is named Ramagiri.
Sabari – It is a place where River Sabari and river Godavari meet. Also the place has a great significance. It is here Dammakka searched for lord Rama vigrahas and found them.
Abhaya Anjaneya temple – A famous temple of lord Anjaneya who is an intensive devotee of Lord Rama.
Papikondalu – The three beautiful hills situated on the banks of river Godavari. These are one of the scenic beauties of Andhra Pradesh.
